Welcome to the Swiss Airline Pilots Association (SwissALPA). SwissALPA is the federation (Dachverband) of the pilot‘s unions in Switzerland. SwissALPA is part of the AEROPERS organisation. In addition to AEROPERS members (pilots of SWISS International Air Lines), also pilots from Swiss European Air Lines, Edelweiss Air, Belair as well as the members of the Swiss Independent Pilots Association (SIPA) are represented as associated members by AEROPERS-SwissALPA. The association represents through its member associations, the majority of all Swiss airline pilots.
Through membership with the International Federation of Airline Pilots Associations (IFALPA) the association has contact with over 90 national associations and 100,000 pilots worldwide, all providing mutual assistance and sharing knowledge with each other. SwissALPA was originally created in 1992 by AEROPERS, CCP and APC.
Goals of SwissALPA
- National and international representation. We take part in the political process regarding any pilot / aviation interest like official recognition of the profession "pilot", defining rules and regulations and improvement of working conditions. Internationally SwissALPA-AEROPERS is the official representative in IFALPA (International Federation of Airline Pilots Associations).
- Improvement of Flight Safety. With the efficient Air Safety Committee we are be able to continue to participate actively in improving flight safety. Major subjects are aircraft design, airport environment, air traffic service, human aspects and accident analysis.
- Exchange of information and experience among member. Matters of interest include working conditions, conflict of interest and coordination of possible labour action.
